What are the Different Parts of 3 Piece Wheels?

Monoblock and 3 piece wheels are the two most popular types of forged wheels, in the industry. Depending upon the construction, the wheels get their name. These two not only differ in their make, but both of them also have a unique west of pros and cons, which makes them best in their areas of application.

The three-piece are quite popular, just like Simmons mag wheels. The built of these wheels is strong enough, mainly because of the three parts that make the wheel.

Those parts include:
  • Inner barrel: This size of this part of the wheel would differ, with the application and type of vehicle for which it would be used.
  • Outer barrel: This part of the wheel which is known as lip, is bolted to the centre (inner barrel) while assembling the tyre.
  • Center forged: Aluminum blocks are moulded to form different designs that aid in giving the wheel a unique look.
The parts are individually manufactured and bolted (or sealed) together, at the end of the manufacturing process.

The main advantages of this type of wheels include:
  • Fitment: The wheels are generally tailor-made. The manufacturing of the set of wheels begins, only when the customer places their order. The wheels would be as per the exact specifications, taking into account the lowered suspension, upgraded brakes or any other modification that could increase the difficulty in fitting the tyre.
  • Finish: The number of options in this regard is limitless. Since the manufacturing process begins only after the customer places the order, it would give the manufacturer the freedom to give the desired finish as per their taste. The few options in eth finish include the two-tone finish on the face, custom colour on the lip, a stripe on the lip, contrasting lips on the bolts etc.
  • Strength: Forged aluminium is used in making the centre of the wheel, thus making them strong, capable to be used in tough conditions as well.
The owner can order these wheels through a popular dealer or online.
